MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police and firefighters in Memphis have evacuated nearby houses after the home of a person who makes ammunition caught fire.
The Commercial Appeal reported ammunition was exploding after the home caught fire before dawn Friday. There were no reports of injuries, either from the blaze or the exploding ammunition.
Michele Muggridge, who said she was awakened around 4 a.m. by popping sounds and her dogs barking, called the situation "freaky scary." Muggridge said a person who lives at the house makes ammunition commercially.
Police wouldn't let nearby neighbors go back home until the ammunition was removed.
