FEMA centers open, as storm recovery continues

(WVLT)- FEMA will begin opening storm recovery centers today, in East Tennessee and the surrounding areas.

The centers will be located in storm struck spots like Hamilton, Bradley, Washington and Green counties after last Wednesday's wild weather.

Neighboring Johnson County was just included in a federal disaster declaration. An E-F-2 tornado touched down there.
The clean-up continues throughout the region, which saw most, if not all of the state's 40 tornados.

If you were fortunate enough not to suffer damage- but want to help your fellow East Tennesseans in need, there are a number of ways you can do so.

One way is through our media partner, WIVK.

They're raising money and collecting donations for victims in Greene and Monroe counties.

You can bring water, toiletries, cash or check donations monday morning, from six to ten, to the Turkey Creek Walmart.

New blankets and new pillows are also needed.
