SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Local 8 News spoke with Dan Morris, the father of Regen Morris, the 12 year old boy battling brain cancer.
Mr. Morris says Regen passed away early Christmas morning.
Back in April, crowds of people lined Dolly Parton Parkway to welcome home a little boy named Regen Morris,
The 12 year-old had just finished a 5 month stay at Saint Jude's fighting brain cancer.
But on Christmas Eve, Local 8 News learned that Regen was approaching another homecoming.
His parents said that Regen confirmed through the squeeze of a hand that he was ready to pass.
On their public Facebook page called "Rootin' for Regen", his parents said, "Regen is very near the end of his long difficult journey. He has confirmed with us through the squeeze of a hand that he is ready for this to end and we are as well, as we cannot bear to watch him suffer any longer. Please pray that this happens quickly, even today, as he is struggling for every breath. Pray that God does not allow him to linger in this awful state. Please give our thanks to everyone for the incredible support we have received this past year. Merry Christmas to all of you and thanks for everything. Dan and Tishia"
You can send prayers to the family and follow their journey by watching the Facebook page "Rootin' for Regen."
