NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force has joined the search for an accused child rapist who failed to appear at a trial in Nashville Monday.
Cedric Jones is accused of kidnaping and raping a 14-year-old girl in March of 2010. Police said the 43-year-old Nashville man was free on $200,000 bond awaiting trial when he cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet Sunday and fled.
He was scheduled to be tried in a Davidson County criminal court on four counts of aggravated rape and one count of aggravated kidnapping.
Nationwide extradition has been authorized for Jones, and a judge has revoked his bond.
Authorities are urging anyone who knows Jones' whereabouts to contact Metro Nashville Police.
