Fire destroys abandoned house in South Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An early morning fire destroys an abandoned house in South Knoxville.

Just after midnight, neighbors called the Knoxville Fire Department out to a home at 2615 Vucrest in South Knoxville.

K.F.D. says when they arrived the flames had already burned through much of the house causing it to collapse.

Firefighters were able to control the remaining fire in a matter in less than 16 minutes and keep it from spreading to nearby homes.

K.F.D. also tells us they were called out to a fire at the same house last winter which damaged the home and left it abandoned.

Arson Investigators are looking into the cause of this latest fire.

No injuries are reported.
