Fire destroys popular Memphis deli

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WVLT/AP) -- A popular deli in Memphis is no more today after a fire ripped through the building, causing the apartments above it to collapse.

Firefighters searched for anyone been trapped in the apartments, but were forced to pull back when fire began coming through the floor.

The blaze occurred overnight Tuesday at Lester's Grocery and Deli, near the campus of LeMoyne-Owen College.

No injuries were reported.
