MORRISTOWN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Three people, including a five year-old girl, were pulled to safety by nearby fishermen after their boat capsized and they were forced under the waves near Fort Loudon Dam on Tuesday, according to TWRA.
Dustin Hooper and Brandon Hooper were fishing with the little girl around 9:00 p.m. when underwater turbulence began pulling the boat toward the water spilling over the top.
Hooper couldn't get the boat started and it was pulled into the spillway where it overturned. All three of them were thrown into the water and were forced under by the turbulence.
When they surfaced again, other fishermen were able to grab a hold and rescue them.
None of them were seriously hurt, said TWRA, though Runyon and the girl were taken to the Loudon Co. ER and have been released.
