Former prison employee charged with rape

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- A former officer at a Lexington prison pleaded not guilty to a charge of rape and official misconduct involving allegations of a sexual relationship with an inmate.

37-year-old Jennifer Wiseman was arrested Wednesday and entered the not guilty plea through her attorney Thursday. She is scheduled back in court Jan. 13.

Police say that Wiseman had a sexual relationship with the inmate from July to September.

Blackburn Correctional Complex said in a statement that Wiseman worked there from March 25 until she was dismissed on Sept. 23.

Wiseman was released from jail on $2,500 bond.
