JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- A former West Tennessee sheriff has been arrested after a shooting outside a Jackson bar.
52-year-old Ricky Lunsford of Jackson was charged with attempted murder and kidnapping in an attack against his estranged wife early Sunday.
Police were called and told a man pulled a woman at gunpoint from the Tap Bar and Grill. Police were told shots had been fired.
Investigators said Lunsford's wife ran from him and ducked between cars in a parking lot when the shooting began. She was not injured. At least three vehicles were hit by bullets.
Lunsford was released on $200,000 bond Sunday from the Madison County Jail where records do not show inmates' attorneys.
Lunsford was sheriff of Henderson County from 2000 to 2006.
