GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) - Moonshine from a Gatlinburg distillery is now more available in East Tennessee.
Sugarlands Distilling Company has partnered with Knoxville Beverage Company to begin carrying its full line of moonshine in all of East Tennessee.
The moonshine will be available in package stores, bars and restaurants immediately.
“We are happy to be working with Knoxville Beverage Company to bring our moonshine to the people of East Tennessee,” said Brent Thompson, director of strategy for Sugarlands Distilling Company. “We are honored to share our product with the folks who live and work here, and we look forward to hearing stories of how our shine is being shared in our own backyard.”
Sugarlands Distilling Company offers seven different varieties of moonshine, including the ‘legal’ version of TV personality and legendary moonshiner Jim Tom Hedrick’s unaged rye.
“There’s been a great deal of anticipation in our market for Sugarlands Distilling Company’s fine moonshine,” said Andrew Bowen, spirit sales manager for Knoxville Beverage Company. “We’re proud to carry such an authentic product from our own market. I have no doubt Sugarlands Distilling Company’s moonshine will be a big hit in our area.”
By May 1, Sugarlands Distilling Company will have products on shelves across the state of Tennessee, followed by the entire Southeast region beginning June 2014.
