Gibson County Jail inmate dies after inmate fight

TRENTON, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a young man has died after being injured in a fight with another inmate at the Gibson County Jail.

The Jackson Sun reported that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of 19-year-old Ivory Prewitt.

The fight occurred Friday and Prewitt later died at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

Prewitt was from Humboldt. So is a person of interest being investigated by the TBI. That person's name wasn't released because no charges were immediately filed.
