Graceland holiday lights come on Friday

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Hundreds of blue holiday lights will be turned on Friday evening in an annual celebration at Elvis Presley's Graceland home in Memphis.

Lauren Alaina, an "American Idol" finalist last season, will flip the switch to illuminate the lights at 6 p.m. CST. Children from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis will help.

There will be a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh and other displays.

The ceremony will be broadcast live at www.elvis.com.

Presley, the king of rock `n' roll, lived at Graceland much of his adult life before his death in 1977. It is now open for public tours.
