Guard unit to lay wreath on Andrew Johnson grave

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The 278th Armored Calvary Regiment of the Tennessee National Guard will lay a wreath on the grave of President Andrew Johnson to honor his 204th birthday.

The Greeneville Sun reports it is the custom for a representative of the current U.S. President to place a wreath at the grave of each deceased U.S. President on his birthday.

Traditionally, the Tennessee National Guard has laid wreaths on Johnson's grave.

Maj. Gen. Max Haston, Adjutant General of Tennessee, will be the guest speaker at the ceremony on Saturday afternoon in Greeneville.

The public is invited to attend.
