MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a Lauderdale County mother has been charged in the death of her infant son.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 21-year-old Tori Alexandria Pease was arrested Monday on a charge of attempted aggravated child endangerment in the May death of 7-month-old Haiden Colvin.
The TBI says Pease, of Halls, was sleeping on a mattress on the floor next to another mattress where children were sleeping. Investigators say she awoke to find her son between the two mattresses, and he was unresponsive.
The infant later died at a hospital.
A clerk at Lauderdale County general sessions court says Pease has been booked in jail and posted $1,000 bond. Information on her lawyer is expected to available after her arraignment Wednesday.
