Homeless man found dead on Nashville church steps

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A homeless man has been found dead on the steps of a Nashville church.

Police told WSMV-TV cold weather contributed to the death. A medical examiner will determine specific cause.

The man's body was found Thursday morning at the Crystal Fountain Church in East Nashville. A friend of the man said he was 50 years old and used crutches because of a mobility problem.

Police didn't immediately release the victim's name.

The National Weather Service said the overnight low temperature in Nashville was 25 degrees.
