Hundreds of Guardsmen coming home this week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Hundreds of members of the West Tennessee National Guard are coming home this week after being deployed for a year in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

More than a 160 soldiers from from Trenton’s 230th Engineer Battalion are currently in Fort Bliss, Texas for processing. They are scheduled to arrive at the National Guard's Volunteer Training Site in Smyrna shortly before noon on Tuesday.

After a bit more processing, they are expected to head home around 3:00 p.m.

Around 150 Union City Guardsmen are also in Fort Bliss. Members of the 913th Engineer Company are expected to arrive at the Volunteer Training Site around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. They're scheduled to be in Smyrna for at least three hours before heading home.
