MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- Two teens died after being struck by a train Saturday morning.
Investigators with the Blount County Sheriff's Office say the pair were hit on the tracks near Clover Hill Road, in Maryville, around 1:45.
The name and age of the men has not been released. Both men were dead when crews found them.
But a neighbor tells Local 8 News that the teens were friends and at least one of them lived nearby the train tracks.
The CSX Corporation is also investigating the scene and have removed the train involved from the tracks.
CSX tells us that the train was running fine. It was made up of two locomotives and 68 freight cars that were heading from Ohio to North Carolina.
A total of 30 trains travel along those tracks per day.
