Jackson shooting kills Nashville man

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- Jackson Police are investigating a club shooting that killed a Nashville man.

The Jackson Sun reported 26-year-old Raymon Carpenter was found lying in the parking lot of a nondescript building that has no sign outside. Police, however, said it was Club Sensations.

An officer on patrol early Sunday heard gunshots and arriving police found Carpenter's body. The investigation showed Carpenter had come to Jackson for a family gathering and that he and two sisters went to the club.

Police Capt. Tyreece Miller said it appears the shooting stemmed from an argument inside the club.

Miller said Carpenter's death is the fifth homicide of the year in Jackson.
