Jail inmate dies, investigation finds drugs

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Sullivan County Sheriff's Department has released the name of a woman who was found unresponsive in a jail cell and later was pronounced dead.

According to WJHL-TV (http://bit.ly/S5lp4g ), the inmate was 34-year-old Marlina Kindle. She was found to not be breathing Thursday afternoon.

Investigators said it appeared another woman smuggled drugs into the jail in Blountville by hiding them in a cavity of her body. Detectives said Kindle and another inmate apparently obtained the drugs.

An autopsy is being performed on Kindle's body to determine the cause of her death.
