ATHENS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A former McMinn County jail guard was indicted and charged with sexual contact with a woman inmate.
Justin Swafford was released on bond Thursday after being booked at the county jail in Athens.
Sheriff Joe Guy said the allegations did not include intercourse, but violations of department standards won't be tolerated.
The department fired Swafford on April 13 after an internal investigation. Swafford had been a correctional officer since December 2010.
Swafford's arraignment in Criminal Court was set for June 4.
