Judge delays trial, pondering mistrial motion

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- A judge has stopped the Memphis trial of two men accused of being hit men for a drug ring.

U.S. District Court Judge Samuel "Hardy" Mays Jr. sent jurors home Monday after defense attorneys moves for a mistrial.

The Commercial Appeal reported defense lawyers claim the government didn't release key information in a timely manner, preventing a fair trial of 34-year-old Martin Lewis and 36-year-old Clinton Lewis. The men are cousins.

The defense was expected be start presenting witnesses Monday for their clients, who are charged with working for the Craig Petties drug-trafficking ring.

Mays is considering the defense request. The trial is in its fifth week
