RUSSELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A man admitted to murdering a young southern Kentucky woman.
Christopher Allman entered a guilty plea in a Russell County courtroom on Thursday morning for the murder of Sarah Hart. Hart, who was pregnant at the time, disappeared while out on a jog with her sister.
Police said that early on June 14, 2012, Allman attacked, raped, and kidnapped Hart, then strangled her to death. He left her body under a tree and she wasn't found until hours later after an extensive search.
Allman was apprehended a short time later. Police said he not only attacked her but stole money from her as well.
The prosecutor said that Allman was seen by as many as 50 people that morning and he was the only one seen in that area. The prosecutor also revealed that Hart and her sister had seen him in that area before.
With the the plea, the commonwealth is recommending a life sentence with no possibility of parole.
