Knoxville man arrested with 50 lbs. of marijuana

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A 33-year-old Knoxville, Tenn., man has been arrested after authorities found 50 pounds of marijuana in his car.

Officers say Vasquez was pulled over for speeding Friday afternoon and officers smelled marijuana. A Knox Country Sheriff's Office news release says a drug-sniffing dog was called in and confirmed the presence of the drug.

The news release says the marijuana was wrapped in 10-pound bundles and stored in a plastic bin in the back seat of Vasquez's 1996 Pontiac Grand Am.

Authorities expect Vasquez to be charged with selling and delivering marijuana.
