Knoxville's mayoral election isn't for months to come, but already the candidates are speaking out about the issues.
As of right now, there are four candidates: two republicans and two democrats.
Republicans Ivan Harmon and Marilyn Roddy, plus democrats Mark Padgett and Madeline Rogero all took part in a forum tonight at the Red Lobster restaurant in West Knoxville on Kingston Pike.
The event hosted by the West Knox Republican Club, gave voters a chance to hear their platforms and ideas they envisioned for Knoxville.
John Gabriel, President of the West Knox Republican Club says it was a way to get the word out on the candidates and the issues at hand. "We believe that an informed voters is a good voter, so we want to expose all the members of our club and it's open to the public to come out and hear from all the candidates so they can make an informed decision."
The primary election is September 27th, and the general election November 8th.
