GOLDEN POND, Ky. (AP) -- Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area is offering eagle viewing trips by van and river cruise in January and February.

According to a news release from LBL, the 170,000-acre recreation area on the Tennessee-Kentucky border is a major wintering spot for bald eagles. Thanks to recent efforts to restore eagle habitats, there has been a tremendous increase in the number of eagles wintering and nesting in the area.

Van trips cost $5 for children and $7 for adults. River cruises are $60 per person and include a meal.

Reservations and full deposits are required for all trips, and early reservations are encouraged.

Gift certificates are available.
