Large limb falls onto church picnic, children hurt

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- At least six people were taken to hospitals after a limb fell onto a church picnic in Memphis.

The Commercial Appeal reported two children were in critical condition at LeBonheur Children's Hospital after the incident in Overton Park on Monday.

About 30 people from the Holy Calling Fellowship Church were having a Labor Day barbecue when the limb fell about 4 p.m.

Memphis Fire Department EMS battalion commander Daniel Wakefield said the limb was as large as most trees.
