UNION CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Innovative Hearth Products has announced it will close its Lennox plant in Union City.
A statement by the company said the closure will come in the spring or summer of 2014.
The Union City Daily Messenger reported company CEO Mark Klein said on Monday that the company will move all manufacturing to plants that mirror each other on the east and west coasts.
There are currently four plants and two of them are in the same region. The other central plant is in Russellville, Ala.
Innovative Hearth Products makes indoor and outdoor fireplaces, fireplace inserts, free-standing stoves, gas log sets, accessories and venting products.
The company didn't say how many employees in Union City will be affected and a telephone call left at its headquarters was not immediately returned.
