Lewis County man accused of running over wife

HOHENWALD, Tenn. (AP) -- A Lewis County man is charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says in a news release that 73-year-old James Hobbs allegedly ran over 69-year-old Janice Hobbs with his vehicle Tuesday on State Route 99 West in Lewis County during a domestic dispute that began at their home.

The couple owned Buffalo River Canoe Rental.

The TBI arrested James Hobbs on Thursday.

The agency is investigating at the request of District Attorney General Kim Helper.
