MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Memphis say they have arrested a suspect in the first homicide of the year in the city.

Officers checking an abandoned car on Wednesday found the body of 22-year-old Brian Henderson in the trunk. The body bore an apparent gunshot wound.

A police spokeswoman said Thursday that investigators charged Mykel Nolan, also 22, with second-degree murder.

Police believe the homicide occurred Sunday. No motive was released.
