GREENEVILLE, TN (WJHL) - A man in Greeneville was dumped in a garbage truck and compacted along with the trash early this morning, but only received an injury to his shoulder.
A Greeneville trash truck operator was making his usual rounds and picked up the dumpster behind Monterrey Mexican Restaurant and compacted the contents.
According to Greeneville Police Department Lt. Tim Hartman, the driver’s routine is to compact trash after stopping at the restaurant. Two more trash pickups were made before the driver heard Daniel McAffery beating on the truck and yelling.
McAffery was in the dumpster when it was emptied into the truck.
The driver called 911 and McAffery, no known address, was removed from the garbage truck and taken to the hospital.
Hartman did not think he was badly hurt.
