Jefferson City, Tenn. --Firefighters got the call and knew it wasn't good, someone trapped inside an apartment fire.
It happened late Tuesday night on Meadow Springs Drive in Jefferson City.
Smoke was billowing from the second level of a townhouse.
Inside, crews found the body of a man who didn't make it out.
That victim's name was not released, but an investigation was launched to figure out what went wrong.
