Man shot while driving in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis police are searching for a shooter who fired into a car, critically injuring the driver.

WMC-TV reported the 44-year-old victim's car then crashed into a sign at a convenience store early Wednesday.

Police don't know whether the shooter was in another car or was a pedestrian.

The victim's name wasn't immediately released. He was in critical condition at the Regional Medical Center.
