COLUMBIA, Tenn. (AP) -- The Maury Regional Health Care Foundation in Columbia has received a $5,000 grant to help cancer patients.
The Daily Herald reports the money from the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee will be used to provide items like wigs, mammograms and gas cards for cancer patients who can't afford them.
This is the third year the Maury Regional Health Care Foundation has received a grant from the Community Foundation.
Maury Regional Health Care executive director Joe Kilgore says his program has provided more than $41,500 in assistance to financially-challenged patients over the past six years.
