Memphis Police shutter 2 nightclubs

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis Police have closed down two nightclubs after documenting drug sales and unlawful alcohol selling.

The Commercial Appeal reported hearings are scheduled for Club Materialistic and the 2 for 1 Bar on Tuesday in Shelby County Environmental Court. Both were shut down over the weekend.

Undercover officers also documented partially nude dancing and said they were propositioned for sex at the 2 for 1. They reported simulated sex acts at the Materialistic.

Police said the Materialistic doesn't have a beer or alcohol license, but was selling without checking identification.
