Memphis college student dies in single car wreck

HAZEL, Ky. (AP) -- A Murray State University student has died in a single-car wreck in southwestern Kentucky.

Kentucky State Police say 24-year-old Daniel M. Milam of Memphis, Tenn., was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus south on U.S. Hwy. 641 near Hazel at about 3 p.m. CST when the car went off the road for unknown reasons.

Calloway County Deputy Coroner Ricky Garland pronounced Milam dead at the scene.

The Murray Ledger & Times reported that Milam was a member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity and had been involved with Realities on Campus, Playhouse in the Park and other performing arts endeavors.
