MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The city of Memphis is opening a new wellness clinic for employees.
The new Employee Wellness Clinic is set to open in Memphis on Wednesday for employees, dependents and retirees covered by the city's health care plan. Visits will cost a $15 flat fee.
Methodist Healthcare and Cigna are working with the city on the clinic, which will be a non-emergency facility.
Methodist Healthcare staff will diagnose and treat medical conditions including sore throats, ear aches, sinus and upper respiratory infections, cold and flu symptoms, muscle sprains and strains, and minor cuts and burns.
Memphis Mayor A C Wharton Jr. says the city wants to provide a convenient way for employees to be seen and treated by a medical professional.
