MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Police in Memphis have charged a woman with aggravated assault after her teenage son shot his stepfather, critically wounding him.
According to The Commercial Appeal, police responded to a call Wednesday afternoon to find a man had been shot in the face. The man was taken to the Regional Medical Center, where he was in critical condition.
Police arrested a 40-year-old woman. Investigators said an argument between her and her husband turned physical and the woman told her 16-year-old son to get her gun. Police said the youth retrieved it and shot his stepfather with it.
The boy was in police custody early Thursday. It wasn't clear whether he had been charged with any crime.
