Memphis woman killed in Miss. crash

BALDWYN, Miss. (AP) -- A Memphis woman was killed and two others injured in a single vehicle crash in Baldwyn, Miss.

The accident happened late Saturday night on Baldwyn-Ripley Road.

Prentiss County Coroner Greg Sparks tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal 23-year-old Ashley Gaston of Memphis, was killed in the crash.

Two others in the car were transported to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Investigator say Gaston was a passenger in the vehicle. The vehicle drove past a parked police car at a high rate of speed and when the officer reached the vehicle, the driver already had lost control and crashed.
