Memphis girl wins statewide poster contest

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A 10-year-old Memphis girl has won the state's 2012 Missing Children's Poster contest.

Tia Shipp, a fifth-grade student at A.B. Hill Elementary School, was chosen for demonstrating the theme "bring our missing children home." Judges said she also presented an enthusiastic essay and recognizes that there are missing children around the world and not just in the U.S.

Her entry will be submitted to the national U.S. Department of Justice contest in behalf of the state. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is the clearinghouse for missing children in the state and held the contest at the state level.
