MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis Police officers have fatally wounded a man who refused to drop a knife he was holding.
WMC-TV reported the shooting took place on Beale Street near the FedEx Forum early Tuesday.
Police said a woman ran to officers and said a man with a knife was threatening people. The department said officers told the man repeatedly to put down the knife but he refused and police shot him.
The man was pronounced dead at the Regional Medical Center. His name wasn't immediately released.
