Michigan man arrested in Tennessee

HARLAN, Ky. (AP) -- A Michigan man wanted on rape charges in his home state has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in Tennessee after eluding police in Kentucky.

Federal officers had been looking for 48-year-old Bryan Preston Farmer in southeastern Kentucky for more than a week.

The Harlan Daily Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/Il5bA5) that Farmer is wanted for rape, sexual misconduct and assault with a dangerous weapon in Lansing, Mich.

Harlan Police Sgt. Mike Boggs says Farmer has relatives in Harlan County and was in the county on Tuesday when he was chased by police, but he escaped.

Boggs says police in Harlan were called Thursday afternoon and told that Farmer had been caught in Knoxville.
