MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) -- Middle Tennessee State University is preparing to award its 100,000th undergraduate degree.
The school in Murfreesboro concludes its yearlong centennial celebration with Saturday's commencement.
The Daily News Journal reports the university's registrar's office expects 2,500 students to receive undergraduate degrees.
MTSU began in 1911 with 125 students and a 100-acre campus. The university, with an enrollment of more than 26,400, has grown into the state's largest undergraduate school.
