Morgan County Employee Arrested

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A former employee of the Morgan County Soil Conservation District was arrested on charges of stealing more than $44,000 from the agency.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday that 49-year-old Sharlene Justice, the former secretary of the district, was charged with one count of theft.

The state comptroller’s office of Division of County Audit conducted an audit and discovered more than $44,000 missing as part of the investigation.

Justice was booked into the Morgan County Jail on $6,000 bond.
