SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- A mother and son are scheduled to face a preliminary hearing in Smyrna on charges related to the shooting death of the mother's boyfriend.
Christina Rosa Magaddino and her 20-year-old son, Ryan Allen Roe, were arrested in the death of 38-year-old Steven Eugene Carlton of Murfreesboro, who was found dead earlier this month at a boat ramp off Percy Priest Lake.
Police charged Roe with first-degree murder and his mother was charged as an accessory after the fact of murder. Both are charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
Police have not released a motive for the shooting, but have said that Magaddino helped her son move Carlton's body from her apartment where police believe the shooting took place.
