Nashville car dealer waives arraignment on charge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The owner of a Kia car dealership in Nashville waived his arraignment on charges of assault and being a felon in possession of a weapon.

The Tennessean reports Jerry "Chris" Bostick made the waiver on Thursday.

According to a police affidavit, Bostick was accused of slamming a door in his wife's face causing a "visible knot" on her face and red mark on her arm during an argument at their home earlier this month.

He is also accused of knocking a phone from her hand when she tried to call police.

While at the house, police found several guns belonging to Bostick, who has a felony arrest in Florida in 1989 for carrying a concealed weapon.

Bostick has often appeared with his family in television advertisements for the car dealership.
