Nashville couple arrested for Maryland homicide

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police say a Nashville, Tenn., couple has been charged in the slaying of a Germantown woman.

Officers say 49-year-old Preeta Paul Gabba was found Saturday in the road in Germantown, suffering from a gunshot wound. She died at a hospital.

Police say an investigation led them to discover that Preeta Gabba's ex-husband and his wife were in Montgomery County the weekend that she was killed. Officers say 62-year-old Baldeo Taneja had failed to appear in court in Maryland on Oct. 10.

Police obtained warrants charging Taneja and his wife, 63-year-old Raminder Kaur, with first-degree murder.

Taneja and Kaur were arrested Sunday in Nashville. They are being held pending extradition to Maryland.
