Nashville middle school coach accused of rape

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A middle school soccer coach in Nashville has been arrested on rape charges involving a teenage girl.

Metro police arrested 46-year-old Harpeth Hall middle school coach George "Rico" Laise on Tuesday on two counts of statutory rape by an authority figure and two counts of rape involving a victim with a mental incapacity.

The Tennessean reports police said the girl, who was 16 at the time, played on a traveling team coached by Laise and suffered a concussion at a match in Las Vegas last year.

Police said their relationship occurred while she was still suffering results of the concussion.
