NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – An 18-year-old has been arrested for allegedly posing a potential gun buyer in an attempt to rob the sellers.
Jeffery Duncan III was charged with aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robbery, and theft.
Police said the two separate gun sale-related robberies happened this week in the 1300 block of Quail Valley Road.
Both victims told police that they had posted handguns for sale online and were contacted by a potential buyer to meet at specific addresses on Quail Valley Road.
During the first robbery on Sunday afternoon, the victim arrived at the location and Duncan allegedly robbed him of two firearms at gunpoint.
On Monday, the victim fired one shot in self-defense and Duncan returned fire. The victim was not hit, but Duncan drove to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated and released.
Police said Duncan admitted his involvement in both robberies. One of the guns taken during Sunday’s robbery was found inside Duncan’s Quail Valley Road residence.
Duncan was held in lieu of $180,000 bond.
