NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The national Fighting Hunger Together spring campaign begins Monday in Nashville.

Nearly 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide will provide opportunities for meal donations through the purchase of participating supplier brands.

Feeding America, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., ConAgra, General Mills, Kraft and Kellogg's are participating in the campaign. Actress and anti-hunger advocate Kimberly Williams-Paisley and country act The Band Perry also are involved.

Consumers can visit Wal-Mart's Facebook page to vote among a list of 200 communities hardest hit by unemployment, including Las Vegas, Detroit, Sacramento, Tampa/St. Petersburg, Los Angeles, Miami, Toledo, Atlanta, Louisville, Memphis, Denver and others. The community with the most votes will receive $1 million to help fight hunger; Twenty others will receive $50,000 each.

The campaign expects to generate more than 42 million meals donated to food banks nationwide.
