UNION CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- The Obion County Museum in Union City will close May 18.
According to the Union City Daily Messenger many of the artifacts will be moved to Discovery Park of America. It is to open in about a year.
The museum was founded in 1970 at the site of the Obion County Fairgrounds. It moved in 1986 to Edwards Street.
According to the paper, it's been known for its wildlife exhibits, displays of military items and art lessons offered at the facility.
Discovery Park of America will be an educational, entertainment and tourism facility on 50 acres.
